After 12 fun years of ownership, I now have one too many cars in the garage and have sadly decided to sell my 1975 1600M. Since purchase in January 1999, the car has benefitted from an extensive amount of work and has been looked after almost exclusively by Adrian Venn at Exactly TVR. General maintenance & upgrade work included in that time includes:
Stainless-steel exhaust system & manifold; new fuel tank; security door buttons; new starter motor; new fuel pump; new UJs; replacement bonnet (accident repair) with quick release attachment, re-spray to match bonnet/bulkhead paint; adjustable AVO dampers & new springs; reconditioned wiper motor and wiper rack; refurbished radiator; replacement heater matrix; alloy steering-rack mounts & exchange steering rack; alloy catch tank; replacement brake master cylinder, calipers and brake overhaul; new cooling system expansion tank; up-rated poly suspension bushes; modified gearbox cross-member mount; strengthened differential carrier frame; reconditioned 3.89 differential; rebuilt close-ratio 4sp gearbox with quick-shift.
In 2002 an up-rated 1699cc unleaded engine was built and fitted by Trevor Jasper. This is similar to Caterham Supersprint specification and was dynamometer-tested at 140bhp@6500rpm and 130lbft@4750rpm. A full build sheet can be supplied on request.
In 2004 the car underwent a full body-off chassis rebuild at Exactly TVR, including electrics. Additional work carried out at the time included: rebuilt prop-shaft; reconditioned alternator; driver's door-panel re-trimmed; foot-wells & transmission tunnel re-carpeted; seatbelts replaced with modern inertia-reel units.
Having ironed out the gremlins and dropping the annual mileage, more recent work has been limited to yearly servicing. The car would now benefit from some cosmetic TLC but, mechanically & chassis-wise, she is in excellent condition and will be sold with a new MOT.

Forleden kom endnu en 1600M på Classiccarsforsale.co.uk til 6.750 £. Den meget originale bil fra 1972 blev solgt på et døgn, og havde blandt andet været igennem en 'body-off' restaurering, hvor også chassis'et blev galvaniseret. Den stod på de super lækre og originale fælge, havde Webasto-soltag og var lakeret i en ret fed farve:
De tidlige årgange har den store fordel, at de har lidt mindre og forkromede kofangere + Ford Cortina baglygter (der ikke skulle være til at skaffe).. Det klæder bilen - og får de tidlige årgange til at virke lidt mere clean. Jeg kan bare ikke få den lille lækre TVR-model ud af hovedet !!!
